Pfeiffer Big Sur Campground is California's largest campground in the Big Sur area, located on the western slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains. The campground spans a coast redwood forest alongside the Big Sur River, with most sites offering river views. Camping options include tent sites, RV sites (up to 32-foot motorhomes or 27-foot trailers), hike-and-bike sites, and group sites. Amenities include restrooms with showers, drinking water, a camp store, and café service. The forest shelters black-tailed deer, bobcats, and birds including belted kingfishers. River swimming and numerous hiking trails provide direct recreation.
