Located 90 miles southwest of Phoenix, Painted Rock Petroglyph Campground sits adjacent to a historic archaeological site featuring hundreds of ancient rock etchings. The campground offers campsites equipped with picnic tables, grills, steel fire rings, and a vault toilet, but no drinking water is available. Interpretive panels detail the area's history, including intersecting routes like the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail, the Butterfield Overland Stage Route, and the Mormon Battalion Trail.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
