Located 90 miles southwest of Phoenix, Painted Rock Petroglyph Site sits in the Sonoran Desert between Oatman Mountain and the Painted Rock Mountains. The campground offers 59 individual dirt-and-gravel sites and two group sites, each equipped with picnic tables and steel fire rings. Facilities include two vault toilets and trash collection, but there is no water or electricity. Adjacent to the campground is a day-use area with shaded picnic sites, charcoal grills, and an interpretive trail surrounding an ancient rock art outcrop that sits along historic travel paths like the 1858 Butterfield Stage Route.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
