Caldwell Cabin is a historic 1920s homestead expanded around 1940, set at an elevation of 8,000 feet among tall ponderosa pines overlooking a large meadow in the White Mountains. Located 30 miles southwest of Alpine, the cabin sleeps up to six guests. Facilities include a kitchen with a propane stove, propane refrigerator, solar lighting, sink, fold-down bed, pots, pans, and utensils, as well as a living room with a fireplace, a flush toilet, front porch chairs, two picnic tables, a campfire ring, and drinking water. The Black River Mainstream Trail is a short drive away.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

A body of water lies 0.1 mi off. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Eagar, is 25 mi off.
