Setting
Buckboard Crossing Campground sits at 6,100 feet on the northwest shore of Flaming Gorge Reservoir in a high-desert landscape of sagebrush and scattered trees. The facility has 66 single-family sites, mostly reservable, with picnic tables, campfire rings, and shade cabanas; select sites in Loop A provide electrical hookups. On-site facilities include flush toilets, drinking water, showers, a dump station, a boat ramp, and a fish cleaning station. An adjacent marina rents boats and sells fuel, bait, and groceries. Flaming Gorge Dam tours and visitor center exhibits sit nearby.
Getting there: On Highway 530, travel 25 miles south from Green River, Wyoming. Go 2 miles east on Forest Road 009 to the campground, adjacent to Buckboard Marina.
