Built around 1929 as the original Sherman Ranger Station, this historic bunkhouse sits in the Horse Creek drainage among willows, pines, and summer wildflowers. The rustic, solar-powered cabin features bunk beds with mattresses, a wood stove, a propane cooktop, a small propane fridge, and basic cookware. Seasonal running water supplies a flush toilet and shower from mid-June to mid-September. Outside are a fire pit, corrals for livestock, and nearby Horse Creek. Visitors must bring bedding and trash bags. Jackson Hole is 70 miles north, and the Wind River Range lies to the east.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
