Sandy Beach Picnic Area is a day-use facility located on the southeast shore of Fremont Lake at 7,400 feet, three miles northeast of Pinedale. Lined with thin stands of aspen trees beneath the Wind River Range, the site features a private sandy swimming beach and a dirt layout containing one group site for up to 75 guests. On-site amenities include picnic tables, grills, vault toilets, and a fire ring with benches, with a boat ramp and dock positioned just outside the area. The Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale sits nearby.
