Setting
Tie Flume Campground sits at 8,400 feet along the South Tongue River in a lodgepole pine forest in the Bighorn Mountains. Single-family sites feature picnic tables and campfire rings with grills, supported by accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. Historic remnants of old splash dams and tie flumes line the river right by the campground. Nearby, Sibley Lake offers non-motorized boating and an accessible fishing dock for trout. Surrounding trails accommodate off-road vehicles, hiking, and access to the Cloud Peak Wilderness, while Shell Falls is 18 miles southwest.
Getting there: From Dayton, Wyoming: Travel 26.5 miles west on U.S. Highway 14 to Burgess Junction. Take a left and continue 5 miles south on U.S. Highway 14, then turn east (right) onto Forest Road 26. Travel about 2 miles to the junction with Forest Road 16, where the campground is located.
