Setting
Owen Creek Campground is located along the Bighorn Scenic Byway at 8,400 feet elevation, set among pine and aspen along the banks of Owen Creek. The facility provides single-family campsites with picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash pickup. Visitors use the location as a base for exploring local hiking trails, scenic jeep roads, and Cloud Peak Wilderness access points. Nearby Sibley Lake offers non-motorized boating and an accessible fishing dock, while Shell Falls Visitor Center sits 22 miles southwest.
Getting there: From Dayton, Wyoming: Travel 27 miles on U.S. Highway 14 west, turn left (south) at Burgess Junction and continue on Hwy 14 for 5 miles until you reach Forest Road 236. Take a right on Forest Road 236 and continue about .2 miles to the campground.
