Mammoth Campground sits in a high sagebrush steppe with scattered juniper and Douglas fir, perched near the Gardner River canyon in northern Yellowstone National Park. The grounds feature 82 campsites with food storage lockers, year-round flush toilets, potable water spigots, trash collection, and a seasonal amphitheater. Wildlife like elk, bison, pronghorn, and mule deer frequently roam the area. Boardwalks above the steaming hydrothermal features and vibrant travertine terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs are just down the road, with historic Fort Yellowstone nearby.

Getting there: The Mammoth Campground is located in the Mammoth Hot Springs area in the Northen section of the park, five miles from the park's North Entrance near Gardiner, MT.
