Setting
Hunter Peak Campground sits along the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River at an elevation of 6,500 feet, shaded by a mixed conifer forest along the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway. The small facility offers single-family campsites furnished with picnic tables and campfire rings, supported by vault toilets, hand-pumped drinking water, trash service, and an on-site host. Fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout is popular on the adjacent river, and the Clarks Fork Trailhead is located directly across the highway. The Beartooth Highway and Yellowstone National Park are nearby.
