Tail Race Campground features three campsites with fire rings and a vault toilet. It sits between Fontenelle Reservoir and the Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, placing campers next to open water and wildlife habitat for birding, fishing, and paddling. Historically a gathering location for trappers during their annual rendezvous, the surrounding landscape remains an open river plain set against regional western terrain.
Getting there: Located 1/4 mile south of Fontenelle Reservoir on the east side of the Green River. To access the campground, travel east on Highway 372 for one mile, cross the Green River Bridge, then immediately turn north for four miles. Turn west before the dam to the river and go one mile further.
