10 of the 27.5 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly gravel, with 7.9 miles of dirt. Winds through 18 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch.
Brent Creek runs 0.2 mi off. Ramshorn Peak stands 3,744 ft above the site, 6.0 miles northwest. Travellers have camped along here. The nearest town, Pinedale, is 56 mi off.
