Setting
The Barracks is a bi-level house sitting at an elevation of 8,100 feet in the Snowy Range near the Highway 130 winter closure gate. Designed to sleep up to eight people, the lodge features four bedrooms with twin beds, a small living room, two bathrooms with showers and flush toilets, and a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, and cookware. The building has electric service and heat. Winding through the surrounding aspen and lodgepole pine stands are the Brush Creek Cross-Country Ski Trails, with over 300 miles of regional snowmobile trails nearby.
Getting there: From Saratoga, Wyoming, travel south on Highway 130 for 8 miles to the junction of Highway 130 and Highway 230. Turn east on Highway 130 and travel for 12 miles to the Brush Creek Work Center. Turn into the work center and park at the bi-level house. The driveway is plowed to the Brush Creek Barracks.
