3.4 of the 13.7 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly gravel, with 3.4 miles of dirt. Level ground alongside most of its length. Winds through 8 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. Cattle guards 4.1 and 5.9 miles in.
A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. Willow Creek runs 0.5 mi off. Bighorn Peak stands 4,121 ft above the site, 9.0 miles northeast. The nearest town, Buffalo, is 29 mi off.
