Shell Creek Campground sits at 7,500 feet on the banks of Shell Creek in the Bighorn Mountains, shaded by fir, aspen, and cottonwood trees. The facility provides single-family sites equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. Accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection are available on-site, with a dump station 19 miles away at Burgess Junction. Nearby trails like Adelaide Trail offer access to Shell Creek and Cloud Peak Wilderness, while Shell Falls Visitor Center is six miles west.
Getting there: Located 32 miles east of Greybull, Wyoming, on U.S. Highway 14. Turn off onto Paintrock Lakes Road (Forest Road 17). Shell Creek Campground is 1.5 miles from the turnoff.
