Setting
Located off the Bighorn Scenic Byway at 7,500 feet elevation, Ranger Creek Group Campground sits along Ranger Creek in a pine and aspen forest. The facility features one large group site accommodating up to 150 people, complete with a covered shelter, picnic tables, serving tables, a fire ring, and a grill. Amenities include accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash pickup. Nearby highlights include Shell Falls Visitor Center eight miles west and local trail access to Shell Creek and the Cloud Peak Wilderness.
Getting there: Located 34 miles east of Greybull, Wyoming on U.S. Highway 14. Turn off onto Paintrock Lake Road (Forest Road 17). Ranger Creek Campground is 3.5 miles from the turnoff, 2 miles beyond Shell Creek Campground.
