Setting
Located at 10,800 feet on a spruce and fir hillside in Medicine Bow National Forest, Sugarloaf Campground contains 16 unshaded sites for tents and trailers up to 22 feet. Each site includes a tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring, with shared access to a water handpump, vault toilet, and trash service. The grounds sit near Libby Lake and Lewis Lakes, which offer brook trout and splake fishing for non-motorized boats, and three nearby trailheads lead into the surrounding Medicine Bow Peaks, with Libby Flats Observation Area 1.5 miles away.
Getting there: The campground is 43 miles west of Laramie, WY and 39 miles east of Saratoga, WY on State Highway 130. Coming from either Laramie or Saratoga on State Highway 130, turn north on to Forest Service Road 346 and the campground will be in three quarters of a mile on your right.
