Setting
Brooklyn Lake Campground sits along the shore of a 36-acre alpine lake at 10,500 feet elevation, eight miles northwest of Centennial, Wyoming, under the peak of Browns Peak. Surrounded by pine forest and grasslands in the Medicine Bow National Forest, the 19-site campground includes five pull-through sites for longer rigs. Sites feature picnic tables and campfire rings, with two vault toilets, trash service, and seasonal handpumps for drinking water. There are no hookups. Campers can launch carry-down non-motorized boats, fish for brook trout, or hike the Sheep Lake and Lost Lake trails.
Getting there: The campground is about 40 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming and 8 miles northwest of Centennial on State Highway 130. From Laramie, travel 37 miles west on 130 and turn onto Forest Road 317/Brooklyn Lake Road. Proceed northwest for 2 miles to the campground.
