Jess Judy Group Campground sits on the western bank of the South Branch of the Potomac River in Smoke Hole Canyon. The non-accessible facility offers three primitive group sites accommodating up to 40 people each, equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, lantern posts, and vault toilets. There is no electricity or drinking water on site. Visitors come to canoe, fish for trout, mountain bike, and hike nearby routes like the North Fork Mountain Trail within Monongahela National Forest.
Getting there: Follow 28/55 from Petersburg, WV, for 8 miles. Turn left onto Smoke Hole Road, Route 28/11, and travel for 13 miles to County Route 2. Turn left onto Smoke Hole Road, County Route 2, and follow for approximately 2 miles. Jess Judy Campground will be on the right.
