Blackhawk Park sits on a forested bend of the main channel of the Mississippi River in Pool 9. The campground offers 150 sites, including 73 with electrical hookups, set under cottonwood, ash, oak, and willow trees. On-site amenities include flush toilets and showers in the West loop, a dump station, potable water, a river beach, two picnic shelters, two boat ramps, two playgrounds, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and fishing docks. Rangers host summer interpretive walks and talks, and the river supports boating, kayaking, and fishing against a backdrop of bluffs.
Getting there: From DeSoto, WI, travel 3 miles north on HWY 35 and turn left on County Road BI. From LaCrosse, WI, travel 25 miles south on HWY 35 and turn right on County Road BI.
