Setting
Namekagon Campground sits in a hardwood and hemlock forest along the shore of 3,227-acre Namekagon Lake at the headwaters of the Namekagon River. The facility provides roughly two dozen single-family sites for tents or RVs, each outfitted with a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill. Accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash/recycling bins are provided. Day-use amenities include picnic shelters, fishing piers, a basketball court, a swimming beach, and a boat ramp. The 1-mile Namekagon Nature Trail originates directly inside the campground loop.
Getting there: From Cable, Wisconsin, take County Highway M east for 11 miles. Turn left on County Highway D and proceed about 6 miles to Forest Service Road 209. Turn left at the campground sign and drive less than a mile to the campground entrance.
