Setting
Mineral Lake Campground is a currently closed facility in a mixed hardwood forest bordering 256-acre Mineral Lake. A public boat ramp is located off Forest Service Road 187 roughly one mile away, giving access for boating, swimming, and fishing for musky, bass, walleye, and panfish. Off-road vehicle, hiking, and mountain bike trails crisscross the surrounding forest, with the North Country National Scenic Trail passing nearby. Nearby natural landmarks include Morgan Falls and St. Peter's Dome.
Getting there: From Mellen, Wisconsin, take County Highway GG west for about 9 miles to the campground sign. Turn right and drive less than a mile to the campground. From Clam Lake, Wisconsin, take County Highway GG north for about 9 miles to the campground sign and turn left.
