Setting
This currently closed campground sits near a lake stocked with musky, bass, and panfish. The surrounding area features network trails for off-road vehicles, hiking, and mountain biking, as well as Class 1 brook trout fishing at nearby Springbrook. The 4,600-mile North Country National Scenic Trail runs adjacent to the property. Nearby points of interest include Morgan Falls, St. Peter's Dome, and Penokee Overlook.
Getting there: 34412 Mineral Lake Rd. (FR 198) From Mellen, Wisconsin; Take County Highway GG west for about 8 miles. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 187/Mineral Lake Road and continue for 3 miles to the intersection with Forest Service Road 198/Pine Stump Corner. Turn right and continue less than a mile to the campground sign.
