Salmon Cove Group Campground sits on the pebble banks of the American River within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Designed for group gatherings, the single large site accommodates up to 60 people and 15 vehicles, offering picnic tables, campfire rings, and a vault toilet. There are no hookups or drinking water on site. The river provides opportunities for trout fishing, kayaking, and rafting, while the nearby American Ridge Trail extends 26 miles toward the Pacific Crest Trail for hiking and horseback riding.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

American Ridge stands 3,172 ft above the site, 1.6 miles south. American River runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a single-site campground. A group campground -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Cle Elum, is 22 mi off.
