Setting
Lodgepole Campground is located in the Northern Cascade Range within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, running directly alongside the cold, trout-filled waters of the American River. Sites accommodate both tent and RV camping with picnic tables, vault toilets, and drinking water, though no electrical hookups are provided. The river serves as a spot for trout fishing, swimming, and whitewater rafting. Trailheads for the Crow Lake, Swamp Lake, Cougar Valley, and Union Creek trails sit nearby, alongside access to the Pacific Crest Trail and the Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail.
Getting there: From Yakima, take Highway 12 west to the junction with Highway 410. Travel 39 miles on Highway 410 to the campground entrance.
