Halfway Flat Campground sits in an old-growth forest of Douglas fir, hemlock, and cedar along the Naches River on the eastern slopes of the Cascades. The site offers eight campsites equipped with drinking water and vault toilets. Situated 30 miles west of Naches and 30 minutes from Chinook Pass and Mt. Rainier National Park, it provides direct access to river fishing and whitewater paddling. Nearby trails extend into the William O. Douglas and Norse Peak Wilderness areas, with OHV and snowmobile access in the adjacent Little Naches drainage.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Overhead clearance here is posted at 20 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit.

Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, an 8-site campground. Naches River runs 0.1 mi off. Deadhorse Hill stands 1,100 ft above the site, 1.5 miles northwest. 8 sit on the water -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Cle Elum, is 16 mi off.

September normals 4473°F, 1.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
