Birch Bay State Park sits nine miles south of Blaine, encompassing 225 acres with extensive waterfront on saltwater Birch Bay. The park features 7,915 feet of saltwater shoreline and freshwater access along Terrell Creek. Facilities include camping and picnic areas. Recreation spans fishing, hiking, crabbing, clamming, and boating. An archaeological site called Strav-a-wa, documented since 1963, reflects the area's indigenous heritage. Established in 1954, it is one of Washington's most-visited state parks.
