Gifford Campground is a shaded, forest campground set among ponderosa pines along the northern shoreline of Lake Roosevelt. Most sites offer clear views across the water. On-site facilities include picnic tables, fire pits, drinking water, a swim beach, and a year-round boat launch. The site is a popular base for fishing for walleye, bass, trout, and salmon, as well as seasonal hunting in permitted sections of the park. The free Gifford Ferry operates nearby, running across the river every 15 minutes.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Quartz Mountain stands 2,248 ft above the site, 1.6 miles northeast. The Lake Roosevelt shoreline is 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.2 miles off, a 42-site campground. Most of them shaded. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, Chewelah, is 19 mi off.
