Setting
Coal Creek Group Campground offers a single private group site for up to 25 people along Mountain Loop Road in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Situated near the junction of Coal Creek and the Stillaguamish River, the site accommodates a mix of tents and RVs and includes tables, tent pads, campfire rings with grills, and vault toilets. Old-growth cedar, fir, and hemlock line the surrounding terrain. Nearby features include the Big Four Ice Caves Trail, views of the 6,153-foot Big Four Mountain, and the barrier-free Gold Basin Mill Pond interpretive trail directly across the road.
Getting there: From Seattle, Washington, go north on I-5 to Everett. Take exit 194 onto Highway 2, then head north at Highway 204 towards Lake Stevens. Turn north on Highway 9, then east on Highway 92 to Granite Falls. The campground is located approximately 23.5 miles east of Granite Falls on Highway 7 Scenic Byway.
