Cougar Rock Group Campground sits in a thick forest adjacent to the Nisqually River on the southwest side of Mount Rainier National Park, at an elevation of 3,180 feet. Located within the main Cougar Rock facility, the group section offers five reservable sites equipped with picnic tables, drinking water, flush toilets, and an outdoor amphitheater for ranger programs. The campground includes a viewpoint facing Mount Rainier and provides direct access to the 93-mile Wonderland Trail, with the Paradise area and its sub-alpine meadows located a short drive up the mountain.
Getting there: Cougar Rock Campground is located 14 miles east of Ashford, Washington, on State Route 706/Paradise Road.
