Setting
Bonaparte Lake Campground sits in a mixed ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forest along the southern shore of Bonaparte Lake, framed by surrounding mountain peaks. The grounds feature individual campsites, tent pads, and a group site with a shelter and community fire pit, alongside vault and flush toilets, drinking water, and a boat launch. Visitors come to fish from boats or the accessible dock, paddle, swim, and hike nearby trails like the Pipsissewa Trail, which leads toward the Bonaparte Mountain Fire Lookout.
Getting there: From Tonasket, Washington, take State Route 20 East for 24 miles. Turn left onto the Bonaparte Recreation Area turnoff (Okanogan County Road 4953). Continue on Okanogan County Road #4953 for approximately 6 miles to the Bonaparte Lake Campground entrance on the left hand side of the road.
