Fort Spokane Campground sits among ponderosa pines at the confluence of the Spokane and Columbia Rivers on Lake Roosevelt. The year-round facility has 68 individual sites and an open boat launch; drinking water is available except during winter. Directly across the road is the historic Fort Spokane grounds, featuring a seasonal museum housed in an 1800s guardhouse and an interpretive walking trail. The surrounding wetlands and nearby Hawk Creek offer prime habitat for falcons, herons, and eagles, while the lake supports year-round fishing for walleye, trout, and salmon.

Getting there: Take State Highway 2 west of Spokane for 32 miles. Turn north on State Highway 25 at the town of Davenport and travel 24 miles. Follow the signs to the campground.
