Fort Ebey State Park occupies 651 acres on the west side of Whidbey Island overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The park features three miles of saltwater shoreline plus Lake Pondilla, a 3.7-acre freshwater lake. Extensive trail systems include 25 miles of hiking routes, with four miles comprising a segment of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail. Camping and picnic facilities support fishing, beachcombing, and paragliding. The park preserves World War II coastal defense infrastructure, including a bunker from 1942. Situated within Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve, it offers rich military and cultural heritage alongside water recreation.
