Louella Cabin is a historic 1912 Forest Service structure in Olympic National Forest, set on a gentle, Douglas fir-covered slope overlooking a valley. The four-room cabin sleeps six and features electricity, a furnished kitchen, propane heat, a futon, a queen bed, and bunk beds. Outside is a covered picnic table, a fire ring, and a weekly-serviced portable toilet. Drinking water is not provided. The site sits near the Dungeness River, known for salmon and trout fishing. Over 58 miles of trails lie nearby in the Buckhorn Wilderness, with access to Olympic National Park.
All 0.4 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Graded dirt the whole way in (0.4 miles). Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
Burnt Hill stands 916 ft above the site, 0.8 miles north. A body of water lies 0.2 mi off. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Sequim, is 5.5 mi off.
