Tumwater Group Campground sits at the confluence of Chiwaukum Creek and the Wenatchee River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The single group site holds up to 70 people and 40 vehicles, equipped with electric hookups, picnic tables, campfire rings, drinking water, and accessible flush toilets. Facilities also include a covered picnic shelter featuring an indoor wood stove and fireplace. Campers can fish for salmon and trout directly along the riverbank or head out to nearby winter Sno-Parks and regional trails like the Pacific Crest Trail.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
Big Jim Mountain stands 6,085 ft above the site, 4.8 miles west. Wenatchee River runs 0.1 mi off. A group campground -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Leavenworth, is 6.5 mi off.
