Steliko Lookout sits at 2,586 feet elevation on an open ridge in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Built in 1947, the 16x16-foot fire lookout cabin sleeps four people using two standard frames and two trundle beds with foam mattresses. Amenities include a two-burner propane stove, a wall-mounted propane heater, solar LED lights, USB charging, folding tables, a bench, and an outside vault toilet 40 yards away. Guests must bring their own water, bedding, and supplies. From spring to fall, access is via a steep 1.5-mile dirt road; winter access requires snowshoes, skis, or snowmobiles.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
