Set on an eight-acre wooded site in Green Mountain National Forest, Hapgood Pond Recreation Area borders a 12-acre pond 13 miles east of Manchester. Individual campsites provide cleared tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and parking spurs, served by vault toilets and drinking water. The property features a carry-down boat launch, a fishing pier on the south shore, group picnic pavilions, an open play field, and the Green Mountain National Forest's only managed swim beach. A one-mile trail loops around the north end of the pond toward an old dam.

Getting there: From Manchester, take Route 11 6 miles east and go left into Peru. Continue 2 miles north on Hapgood Pond Road.
