Setting
Moosalamoo Campground is a remote loop at the base of Mt. Moosalamoo near Voter Brook, set within a shade canopy of sugar maples, beeches, and birches. It features 18 overnight sites for tents and small RVs, equipped with picnic tables and fire rings with grills. A central mowed grass field sits in the middle of the loop. On-site amenities include six accessible vault toilets and a hand pump for drinking water. Trails for Mt. Moosalamoo and Voter Brook connect directly to the campground, providing access to the surrounding 16,000-acre National Recreation Area.
Getting there: From Middlebury: Travel south on Route 7 to the junction of Route 125. Travel east on Route 125 for 6.8 miles, and turn right onto Forest Road 32. Follow FR 32 for 3.3 miles, and turn right onto Forest Road 24. The entrance to the campground loop is at 0.4 miles. From Rochester: Travel north on Route 100 to the junction of Route 125. Travel west on Route 125 for 10.9 miles, and turn left onto Forest Road 32. Follow FR 32 for 3.3 miles, and turn right onto Forest Road 24. The entrance to the campground loop is at 0.4 miles.
