Setting
North Bend Park is a heavily forested campground along the shore of John H. Kerr Reservoir near Kerr Dam. As the largest park on the lake, it offers over 200 tent and RV campsites, flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. Dedicated swim beaches serve each camping loop, while the central day-use area houses picnic shelters, three boat ramps, an amphitheater, a disc golf course, and a paved 1.5-mile bike trail. The park connects to the Virginia Blueways Trail via Tailrace Park's accessible kayak launch, with the Joseph S.J. Tanner II Environmental Education Center half a mile away.
