Setting
Located at the base of Bald Mountain along Mill Creek, the Fenwick Mines Pavilion is part of a day-use area in Craig County. The site features a covered shelter with picnic tables, three large barbecue grills, vault toilets, and horseshoe pits. A one-mile trail loop leads through forest and wetlands to a multi-tiered waterfall, alongside a small fishing pond and gated access to Mill Creek Road for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
Getting there: From New Castle, VA. Follow VA 615 for five miles to VA 611 (Peaceful Valley Road). Turn Left. Go 1/3 mile and turn right on VA 685. Follow signs to Fenwick Mines Recreation Area.
