A 24.9-mile stretch of gravel National Forest road in Augusta County, VA. The road is open seasonally, April 1 to January 15.

4.2 of the 24.9 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly gravel, with 0.5 miles of dirt. Level ground alongside most of its length. Winds through 10 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. Gates 8.4, 11.8, 16.6, 16.7 and 20.4 miles in. Water crossings 9.3, 9.8, 16.7, 19.1, 22, 22.2 and 22.3 miles in.

Big Bald Knob stands 1,807 ft above the site, 1.7 miles west. A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. Stark Pond lies 0.5 mi off. The nearest town, Bridgewater, is 16 mi off.
