Elkhorn Campground sits at 9,300 feet elevation on Thousand Lake Mountain, shaded by dense stands of aspen, pine, and spruce above wildflower-filled meadows. The site functions as a group facility for up to 75 people, featuring a large pavilion with tables, grills, Dutch oven cooking surfaces, and a fire ring with benches. Amenities include vault toilets and gravel parking spurs. Visitors use the surrounding area for hiking, mountain biking, off-roading on the Great Western Trail, and fishing in nearby alpine lakes.
