Setting
Pine Valley Recreation Area sits at 6,900 feet surrounded by ponderosa pine, oak, mountain mahogany, and sagebrush. The grounds encompass six family campgrounds, two overnight group sites, four day-use areas, and an amphitheater. Paved sites include picnic tables, fire rings with grills, utility tables, tent pads, vault toilets, and drinking water. Equestrian facilities feature dedicated sites with horse corrals. Shoreline fishing is popular at nearby Pine Valley Reservoir (no flotation devices allowed), and trails lead into the adjacent Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness. OHV use is restricted.
Getting there: From St. George, Utah, go north on Highway 18 to Central. Take a right on Forest Highway 35 towards Pine Valley. Take a left on Main Street and go 3 miles to the recreation area.
