9.7 of the 26.2 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly paved, with 8.6 miles of dirt. Level ground alongside most of its length. Winds through 30 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. Water crossings 4.5, 6.5 and 6.6 miles in. Cattle guards 13.6, 16.5 and 17.8 miles in. Gates 16.1, 17.9, 18, 19.3, 20.3, 20.6, 21, 21.2, 23, 23.4, 23.6, 24.6 and 25.8 miles in.
