Whiting Campground sits at 5,400 feet in Maple Canyon, three miles from Mapleton, Utah. Nestled beside a perennial creek in a grove of maple and cottonwood trees, the site features concrete pads with picnic tables and campfire rings, plus vault toilets. Layout options include single-family sites, equestrian sites with hitching racks, and two group sites holding up to 100 and 200 people with added grills. The nearby Maple Canyon Trail opens up routes for hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, and horseback riding.

All 0.3 miles in are maintained for passenger-car comfort. Paved the whole way in (0.3 miles).

Ether Peak stands 2,066 ft above the site, 0.8 miles north. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 1.5 miles off, a 52-site campground. Night skies measure Bortle 4 -- a rural sky with a glow on the horizon. The nearest town, Mapleton, is 2.7 mi off.
