Setting
Upper Narrows Campground sits in South Willow Canyon southwest of Grantsville at an elevation of 6,400 feet. Surrounded by oak, maple, and juniper, the primitive facility stretches across a mile of dirt road along Willow Creek. On-site amenities include picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and a walk-to group site accessible via a creek footbridge. Anglers fish the creek for rainbow and brown trout, while hikers have immediate access to the nearby Stansbury Front and Medina Flat trailheads leading into the rugged Deseret Peak Wilderness.
Getting there: From Salt Lake City, head west on I-80 for 36 miles. Take the Stansbury-Tooele/Route 35 exit and travel south 3 miles to Route 138 West. Continue for 10 miles to Grantsville. Go through Grantsville to Cooley Street and turn south; go 5 miles to the South Willow Canyon turnoff. Boy Scout Campground is located 3 miles from the forest boundary.
