Campground details
Setting
Smith and Morehouse Campground sits at 7,800 feet in a conifer and aspen forest along Smith and Morehouse Creek, just below the Smith and Morehouse Reservoir. The paved campground features mostly accessible family sites equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, and vault toilets, but lacks hookups. Boaters can use the reservoir's northwest shore ramp for wake-less boating, kayaking, and rainbow trout fishing. The nearby 14.6-mile Smith and Morehouse Trail begins at adjacent Ledgefork Campground, running through forests, meadows, and marshes to Erickson Basin.
Getting there: From Salt Lake City, Utah, take Highway 80 east for 36 miles to the Kamas exit. Travel south for 12 miles to Oakley, turn left on Highway 213 and travel 12 miles to end of pavement. Turn right and go 2 miles to the campground entrance.
