Setting
Lower Provo River Campground is situated at 7,400 feet elevation off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway in the Uinta Mountains, set near its namesake river. Shaded by pine and aspen trees, the facility offers 10 single campsites, each built with a fire ring and picnic table, alongside vault restrooms. The nearby river provides trout fishing, and visitors have access to local off-road trails as well as hiking, biking, and horseback routes such as the North Fork and Shingle Creek Trails.
Getting there: In Kamas, UT, at the intersection of State Rt. 32 (Main St.) and State Rt. 150 (Center St.), take Rt. 150 (Mirror Lake Scenic Byway) east 10.6 miles to Lower Provo sign. Turn right at the sign and go 0.7 miles to the campground.
