Mackinaw Campground sits at 9,000 feet on a sagebrush hillside shaded by aspens along the Fishlake Scenic Byway. Overlooking Fish Lake, the facility features paved roads, single-family sites, and four group sites for up to 20 people each. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, and hot showers, with most sites offering lake views. Boating, swimming, and fishing for Mackinaw and rainbow trout draw visitors to the water below. The Lakeshore National Recreation Trail passes nearby, and the 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins at adjacent Bowery Creek.
